Paint or run to raise funds for cancer

Everyone, whether an art lover or spectator, is welcome to share in this exciting event. After all, it is for a good cause.

Artists of Art by the Sea will be painting In Pink in aid of cancer at the Refillery Art Day, opposite the Southbroom robots on Saturday, February 17, from 09:00 to 12:00.
This event coincides with the countrywide Lace Up for Cancer drive.

While the Art by the Sea artists paint, the Lace Up event will take place at the Wild Coast Sun and Port Edward.
The legacy walk/race will start at the Wild Coast Sun at 07:00. Activities including aqua zumba, yoga, zumba, fusion dance, garden meditation and acupuncture take place from 09:00 to 13:00. The entry fee is R50 per person.
The community of Port Edward is hosting a trail and mass walk in the main street of Port Edward, which has been arranged by Melissa and Nikkita Welman.

Madeleine Pretorius, the provincial director of South African Animal Cancer Association (SAACA) encouraged everyone to get involved as a portion of the funds will be ploughed back into the community, in the form of food for The 3 R’s Rescue NPC and to sterilise feral cats.

The pink paintings will be donated to SAACA during a presentation ceremony at the Wild Coast Casino, scheduled to take place at 13:00.
These paintings will then be auctioned off at a prestigious charity auction, scheduled for April at the Capellos VIP Lounge.

This open air art day on the veranda and lawns of The Refillery, which takes place every second month, promises to be quite a fun event this time around. It is an opportunity to see artists busy doing what they do best and also learning some skills.

Participating artists will be dressed up in pink and do magic with their palette knives and brushes dipped in pink paint. There will also be an exhibition of other artworks from the portfolios of the artists, and these will be on sale.
Rock painting artists of Exploring South Coast – KZN Rocks will also be painting inspirational pebbles in pink, for cancer.

Everyone, whether an art lover or spectator, is welcome to share in this exciting event. After all, it is for a good cause.
