Christmas fun for Eagles

The latest Village Eagles news and results.

The Umdoni Park Golf Course was the venue for the last game of the year for the Village Eagles and we had 68 Eagles in attendance.

The golf course was in immaculate condition, the lost ball count was 100. A special thanks to the staff of Umdoni Park for providing us with the privilege of competing at Umdoni. Another special thanks to Pam in the pro shop for registering the golfers which enabled us to get everybody off on time.

Best lady was Estelle Binnekade on 41 individual points and Philip Bacchus took the men’s prize also on 41 points. The winners on the day were Kas van der Merwe, Brian Chapple, Derek Hodge and Ian Baird on an alliance score of 94 points. The longest day and collecting the Stone’s Trophy were Adrian Rogers, Bryony Rogers, Charlie Bergh and Dave Jack on 75 points.

The results were calculated by Stan Sim and Alistar Eyres.
Eddie Mathews presented the results and a Christmas message in the evening and we had an entertaining fines session by the master himself, Derek Hodge. I am sure all present were more than happy to pay their fine/s. We then enjoyed our Christmas dinner party provided by the Umdoni Golf Club, the food was excellent, the live entertainment by Just Magic provided us with a lot of great tunes. We enjoyed some singing and dancing into the night. On behalf of the committee, I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a prosperous and healthy New Year.

Our next game will be held at Umkomaas Golf club on January 2. See you all there.

STAN SIM
