Umdoni Raiders net betterball prize

Saturday is the club's November monthly medal.

The wind was still blowing and not letting up for the betterball Stableford at Scottburgh Golf Club last Wednesday.

Blowing in for a game were Mike Eley and Roly Tickle known as the Umdoni Raiders who blew us away with 42 points to win by one. The one behind were John Mills and Deane Jooste on 41 and keeping hold of Stone Last for the second game on the trot were Graham Brown and sponsor Geoff Thommasen, thanks for the prizes Geoff.

Mike Eley also rolled in a 2 club with Tony Power and no hidden hole finder.
Last Saturday was the combined Stableford sponsored by Halfway Toyota where a good friend is needed for a partner. It was a return of summer as we caught a bit of a heatwave – so don’t forget the sunscreen and liquids.

Gert van Tonder and Christo Steynvaart were as hot as the sun as they came in with 68 points for a two point win.
Pete Morris and Mikhail van Braken were second on 66 and Dave Meredith, sometimes, assisted by Ian Walker claimed third place on 65.

At last, Liagn Moolman found the hidden holes and Wayne Simpson drew the only 2 club.
Our past manager Karmen Stopforth is back in town for a couple of weeks, all the way from Canada. Karmen managed the club for a few years before leaving to have her last-born. Karmen and husband Pikkie then relocated to Canada where Karmen came from. Good to see you back Karm, enjoy our sun before going back to the frozen north.

On Saturday KWV will be the sponsors for our November monthly medal.
