Bowls was on hold for the very successful joint hosting of the Scottburgh August Week, normal activity returned last week.
The Hibiscus Financial Brokers Mixed Trips competition was held on August 15 and the results were as follows:
Winners – Bob Elliott; Moira Millard and Louise Trollip (Shone) – 4 + 20; runners-up – Derek Hodge, Helen Turk and Avril Black – 4 + 15 and 2nd session – Len Brickhill, Ted Moffit and Maureen Moffit – 2 + 8.
Last Sunday, Len Brickhill (AMBC) won the KBA champion of champions, defeating Tony Waters (Southbroom) in the final. Len was the top dog of all the
singles champions of all the other clubs in the Kingfisher district – a tremendous achievement.
AMBC will be hosting the HMA (Harcourt, Martens & Associates) Mixed Fours Tournament on Saturday, September 16. This is a new sponsor and a new tournament for which invitations are currently being distributed.
The final club championship competition (Drawn Mixed Pairs) will be played during September and the AMBC prizegiving is planned to be held in November.
