When you visit the new Village Beach Club, launched at the Village Tavern in Margate, it feels like you have stepped into a magical bar on an exotic island, like Bali.
This unique entertainment venue is a first of its kind for the coast. Interestingly, the beautiful Indonesian island of Bali, known for its forested volcanic mountains, iconic rice paddies, beaches and coral reefs, is the inspiration behind this new and exciting adventure by Kyle and Grace Krummeck. (Kyle is the son of Tavern owners Kevin and Donna.)
Kyle and Grace explained how they had spent their honeymoon travelling Bali and Thailand in 2018.

Four years later and the couple have had loads of fun transforming a courtyard space in to an enchanted ‘Bali escape’ venue.
Picture swinging pink chair, Balinese ceremonial umbrella, a quaint rustic bar and inflatable flamingos floating in the pool. Get the picture?
You want to spend a few hours in this pretty place. “We had so much fun designing the venue that it actually made me want to take a break and go back to Bali. The beauty of the Village Beach Club is that it is not seasonal but rather an all year round ‘jol’,” said Grace.
It’s perfect for 21st parties, engagement parties and even baby showers.
The club has a Martini Pool designed so that your party of friends can sit on the step and sip on a cocktail served in the pool. Ideal for a hot day! This trendy outdoor venue also has sun lounges and a private bar.
The barmen don’t serve anything in a glass – making it a plastic (or coconut shell) friendly and safe environment, especially around the pool area.
Grace said they took the plunge to create a little piece of paradise on the back of Covid-19, which was a very trying time for the hospitality and entertainment industry.
The Village Tavern is a family owned business which has expanded over the years. “The vision is to make our family owned business a village where locals (and visitors) can come and feel safe and at home while having a good time,” added Grace.
The popular and legendary landmark pub – The Village Tavern – has been an integral part of the Margate entertainment industry for going on two decades.
Two years ago, the VT Coffee Café opened its doors. And while having a beer or a coffee one can have their car cleaned at the Village Tavern Car Wash.
