Golden oldies: ‘Desert Island’ TOP 10 with Rob Fidler

Here's a selection of Rob's chosen songs, most golden oldies, for this week.

We can do the oddest things when we are ‘trapped’ during these troubled times.

Bored out of our brackets from all the ‘doom and gloom’ news channels, we decided to listen to the radio, playing ‘Music of Our Time’.

Not sure when ‘our time’ was exactly. The first number heard was Gloria Gaynor’s ‘I Will Survive’, rather apt, I thought.

Then I thought about other songs which would make my Top 10 to while away the time.

For your listening pleasure may I present my own ‘Desert Island’ Top 10:

1. Time On My Hands
2. There’s a Kind of Hush (all over the world)

Sounds of Silence, by Simon and Garfunkel. (Wikipedia)

3. The Sounds of Silence
4. I Didn’t Know What Time It Was
5. Going Out of My Head
6. Stranger on the Shore

7. Getting To Know You
8. It’s Been A Long, Long Time
9. Things Ain’t What They Used To Be
10. You’ll Never Walk Alone (for football fans)

Shankly Gates, Anfield. (Wikipedia)

The CO suggested ‘Let’s Call The Whole Thing Off’, but a man has got to eat, and not just from bread alone.
