Phinda Private Game Reserve-A Dream Safari Destination

Nestling on the eastern coastline of South Africa, the 28 555 hectare game reserve boasts six luxurious lodges, each designed specifically to the needs of couples and families.

Phinda Private Game Reserve is one of the most elite game reserves in South Africa, renowned for offering the finest accommodation, world-class facilities, and unforgettable safari adventures led by some of the best rangers and trackers in the country.

Nestling on the eastern coastline of South Africa, the 28 555 hectare game reserve boasts six luxurious lodges, each designed specifically to the needs of couples and families.

Phinda Mountain Lodge is a haven for families with kids, boasting child-friendly accommodation and menus, along with a WildChild Programme that involves a number of outdoor activities. These activities could include tracking and fishing, making traditional bows and arrows, beading, crafting and painting. The kids wake each morning to find a new assignment for them on their pillow, creating memories that will last a lifetime. Each activity is based on each child’s interests and is overseen by the friendly staff.

Providing more privacy and the private services of a chef, butler, and ranger, Phinda Homestead is a gorgeous bush home with four opulent bedrooms – the perfect space for larger multi-generational families.

For couples, Phinda Rock Lodge is the firm favorite, with only six gorgeous suites set into a cliff face. Each suite is ultra-luxurious and equipped with en-suite bathrooms, outdoor showers, private plunge pools, minibars, fireplaces, air conditioning, and a  viewing deck.

The reserve has a unique landscape of riverine & sand forests, grassy woodlands, and a sweeping mountain range. It is the perfect home for the Big 5 and other unique wildlife such as giraffe, various antelope species, cheetah, wildebeest, wild dog, and as many as 415 bird species.

The safari experience at Phinda includes morning and evening game drives in open safari vehicles, bush dining experiences, morning boat cruises and guided bush walks which are conducted after breakfast, affording one the opportunity to better understand the bush and learn how to track animals such as rhino.

Because of the reserve’s close proximity to the coastline, guests can also enjoy a day out at the beach and go snorkeling, scuba diving or even deep-sea fishing. Phinda Game Reserve can also be combined with a stay at top beach destinations such as Sodwana Bay, Cape Vidal, St Lucia, or Kosi Bay.
