5 Reasons why being a receptionist…sucks!

FACE IT, most of us have been there.
The first, and sometimes the last face people see when they visit the business you work for, is you.
Most days are great, and then, some others not so much.
So, this is ‘five reasons why being a receptionist sucks’:
Reason one:
That moment you have to hold it in, because somebody else has already occupied the restroom… fives times after you’ve made an attempt but the phone kept ringing.
Reason two:
You’re quite literally, the first line of defense. Like we said earlier, most days are great, and others not so much. We’ve all had to – in a professional manner, even though sometimes you feel like blowing off someone’s head – assist difficult clients or people. Just remember, the customer is always right….
Reason three:
Your employer and seniors expect you to not just know everything but, also, to do whatever they ask of you. Really, this isn’t restricted to movies people. You sometimes have to go buy coffee, and the best part – when your boss asks you to phone someone and the only description he/she gives you is: ‘It’s that guy who drives the sedan’. Like, who doesn’t drive a sedan?
Reason four:
People you work with on a daily basis, for some weird and utterly inexplicable reason, simply cannot remember your name. Probably because the company has gone through so many receptionists because of that one scary and super intimidating senior positioned employee who makes everyone’s life hell.
And lastly, reason five:
Because you are never on time. Yeah, we meant that. ‘When last were you on time,’ asks your employer.
Meanwhile, you were there three hours before he or she arrived but, because you were too busy making coffee for the entire office, nobody noticed your presence.
