A PETITION, with more than 2 000 signatures asking for better service delivery from Ugu, was ripped up by Cogta MEC, Nomusa Dube-Ncube.
The document which called on her to invoke Section 154, to capacitate the municipality to deliver services was handed over by the DA at the KZN legislature on Tuesday this week.
In front of a packed gallery the MEC simply tore up the petition.
The community’s petition follows after many letters to Cogta as well as a protest march to the Ugu offices.
According to the DA the MEC’s action amounts to spitting in the faces of Ugu residents.
