Scottburgh trail run a fun-filled affair

The athletes are looking forward to their next event.

Keep Scottburgh Beautiful and Scottburgh Athletics Club hosted a trail run event and fundraising family day at Scottburgh Mall recently.

The trail event was described by competitors as a ‘fun day out with some challenging hills’.

They had the option of a 6km or 12km race, starting and finishing at the mall’s back parking lot.

Ayanda Mthimkhulu placed first in the 12km men’s run. He is seen with Sunell Pelser (Scottburgh Mall).

Besides the races, there was a mini-market and kids’ corner, too.

The hosts thanked everyone who contributed towards the success of this event, and they are already looking forward to next year’s one.

A special thank you was extended to Scottburgh Mall and to new ward councillor Dana Daniels for attending and assisting with the event.

Proceeds from the day will be donated to the Keep Scottburgh Beautiful NPO to help fund its community initiatives.

The NPO is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the natural beauty of Scottburgh and believes that a clean and green community is essential for the well-being of residents and visitors alike.

Scottburgh locals can’t wait for the next event.

Some of the community initiatives include beach clean-ups, tree planting, public education and awareness campaigns and partnerships with local businesses and organisations.
