The Ugu Tennis Association 190s team league has drawn to a close for the year, with some exciting, interesting and entertaining tennis being played.
It proved to be a huge success and was even bigger and better than the inaugural year. More than 70 coastal tennis players took part in the four league fixtures – there were eight teams in the A section and four in the B section.
This year also saw a number of juniors being included in the teams. ProKennex generously sponsored fantastic vouchers and prizes.
Trophies were awarded to the A and B section winners. Medals were awarded for teams placing first, second and third.
Host clubs Tweni, Uvongo and Douglas Mitchell once again provided outstanding hospitality.
The playoff finals were held at the Uvongo and Douglas Mitchell tennis clubs last Saturday.
In the A league, the winners, Salt & Peppers beat the Untouchaballs 45-31.
The Young & Breathless won the 2 vs 2 match, beating Hawkeye 36-33.
In the 3 vs 3 playoff, Courtets beat Ramsgate Rebels 40-31.
When it came to the 4 vs 4 game, Broomers saw off the Baseline Bandits 45-30.
In the B league, Serve-Ivors defeated Bravados 53-22.
