Exciting events planned to get surfer overseas

Heather Clark is currently fundraising to pay for her trip and needs as much support as possible from the community.

Top surfer Heather Clark is counting sleeps until she represents South Africa at the ISA World Masters Surfing Championships in El Salvador in October.

It has been 11 years since the ISA last ran this event, which makes it all the more exciting.

Clark is the most decorated South African women’s wave rider of all time, having spent 14 years on the ASP World Tour, eight of which were on the World Championship Tour, which consists of the top 16 women surfers in the world.

She is now currently fundraising to pay for her trip and needs as much support as possible from the community.

Here’s how you can get involved:
* The Black Lapels will be playing at Schooner’s Bar and Restaurant in Umtentweni on September 28. Lots of spot prizes up for grabs, and a raffle ticket will be drawn. Talented brother duo of Rob and Garth Warren, who, in their latest foray, have partnered with local musicians and producers to form the Black Lapels, whose gritty, magnetic and distinctive sound has attracted an impressive following, will play after the rugby at 17:00.
