First ever Ugu boxing team to compete

Head coach Jordan Peace says the team has worked hard to compete in Dundee.

A group of boxers from the South Coast are looking forward to this coming weekend. They will be the first-ever Ugu District boxing team to compete at the South African National Boxing Organisation provincial boxing tournament in Dundee.

The team competing, aged between 14 and 16, are Andries Du Toit, Sibusiso Molope, Luke Smith, Cameron Peace, Brendan Meyer and Matthew Nkabinde from Box360 Boxing Academy.

The head coach and professional boxer is Jordan Peace.

“These boys have worked very hard and are extremely excited about this weekend. I believe they all have the ability to do well, and I’m very proud of them, no matter the outcome,” he said.

Peace thanked those who have helped with transportation to get the team to Dundee and for the generous donation of food.

He said support from the community for these incredible young athletes would be amazing. Contact Peace on 060 9063983.
