Sideout volleyball team set for champions cup

The players will be representing the club, the Ugu District and the South Coast community at the highest level of volleyball.

Sideout Volleyball Club will take part in the Volleyball South Africa Aqua-Darshan Volleyball Champions Cup in Brixton, Johannesburg from August 28 to 31.

The club is indebted to all its sponsors and well-wishers.

The senior men’s team will be representing the club, Ugu District and the South Coast community at the highest level of volleyball.

The Champions Cup will cater for a maximum of 16 men’s and 12 women’s teams. This prestigious edition will be used as a ‘gateway’ event for the 2024 Zone 6 Club Championships.

Sideout team chairman Ian Rajagopal wished the team well and safe travels. He thanked all sponsors who have contributed to the team kit, kit bags, transporting the team to Johannesburg and accommodation.

Sideout Volleyball Club was started in 1992 by founder Tubby Naidoo who now lives in Australia.

The club has grown to be one of the best on the South Coast, hence their participation in the Champions Cup. The club boasts four teams comprising of senior ladies, junior ladies, senior men and a masters team.
