Spartans face Solid in winter league final

It should be a cracking final, with Spartans probably the favourites to win.

Spartans will take on Solid XI in the final of the T20 Winter League at Port Shepstone Country Club this Sunday.

This comes after Solid caused something of an upset with a win against in-form Bombay last Sunday.

Solid batted first and looked to be in some early trouble but rallied to set a score of 135 all out in 20 overs.

Mozammel Hoque top-scored with a steady 67 off 52, assisted by Zoab Ikram, who made 19 off 21 balls.

Imran Razakazi was the pick of the Bombay bowlers with 5-21. Aslam Shaikh took up 3-26.

In reply, Bombay had an uncharacteristically poor day at the crease and were skittled for 62, handing Solid a 73 run win.

Aslam Shaikh picked up three wickets for Bombay.

It means Solid qualified second on the log and will get a chance to play the Spartans in the final.

Earlier in the day, Spartans were just too strong for Misfits, bowling them out for 81 and knocking off the runs in the 13th over with four wickets down.

Bombay will play Knockouts for the bronze medal, also at Port Shepstone Country Club, this Sunday.
The summer league will start in September, with 17 teams registered.

LOG
Spartans 22 (1.01)
Solid XI 20 (0.96)
Bombay 16 (0.48)
Knockouts 13 (-0.68)
Misfits 0 (-2.59)
