Bronze for Tehl-Cadi in Durban swim

It was her first gala in her new club colours.

Tehl-Cadi Day-Garden (15) has started her new swimming season in solid fashion, with a third-place finish in the 50m breaststroke at the Prestige Tournament 2024 Gala held in Durban last weekend.

She is now swimming for Action Swim Academy, having made the move to gain more exposure and competition.

Her family still lives on the South Coast, and she attends Port Shepstone High, where she is in Grade 10.

At the gala, she competed in the women’s open division, making the finals in the 50m breaststroke, 200m freestyle, 100m freestyle, 200 breaststroke, 100m breaststroke and 50m butterfly.

The highlight of her day, of course, was earning the bronze medal in the 50m breaststroke race.

It’s just reward for the dedicated swimmer, who often trains on her own in a pool without heating (for now).

It was her first gala in her new club colours, so a wonderful start with the promise of more to come in the future.
