Netball tourney expands in fourth season

Creston College welcomes teams for the KZN South Coast Regional on Saturday, July 27.

The hugely popular Spar KZN Schoolgirls’ Fast 5s Netball challenge, now in its fourth season, has expanded this year with an extra tournament added.

The tournament started in 2019 and has had three tremendously successful editions.

It began with four regional tournaments, then grew to six, then seven and now to eight, with the Highway Regional now part of the fixtures.

Richards Bay High School hosted the first round, the KZN North Coast Regional, on Saturday, July 13.

Two weeks later, Creston College welcomes teams for the KZN South Coast Regional on Saturday, July 27.

August has three tournaments.

The first is at King Edward High School in Matatiele on Saturday, August 3, where teams will also compete for the KZN Southern Regional trophy.

Then St Henry’s Marist College sees teams compete for the Durban Central Regional on Saturday, August 24, followed by the Highway Regional at Hillcrest High on Saturday, August 31.

Two tournaments take place in September: the Durban North Regional at Curro Salt Rock and the KZN Northern Regional at Dundee High School on Saturday, September 14.

Things will wrap up at the Pietermaritzburg Regional on Saturday, October 5.

All games will be live-streamed on the SuperSport Schools’ website or mobile app.
