Scottburgh surfer Louise Lepront is on a roll

This is a significant milestone in her career and she is ready to take on the challenge.

For many successes in life, timing is everything. Sometimes it is luck, sometimes serendipity. For Louise Lepront from Scottburgh, it was a matter of being at the right place at the right time.

Following her triumphant return from the ISA World Junior Surfing Games in El Salvador, where she secured an impressive third place in the U16 girls’ division, Louise found herself at a pivotal moment in her career.

This remarkable achievement, placing third in the world, marked the beginning of her next chapter and is a significant event in the world of surfing.

It was a moment of unexpected opportunity when Rip Curl South Africa extended a healthy sponsorship contract to Louise. Without hesitation, she seized this unexpected turn in her career.

To prove her worth, she won the next contest she entered, the WSL 1000 Ethekweni Pro in Durban.

Simultaneously, a highly coveted opportunity presented itself for Louise to compete in the prestigious Lexus US Open of Surfing presented by Pacifico – Challenger Series Tournament, which will take place in Huntington Beach, California, United States, from August 5 to 11 this year.

This is a significant milestone in her career, and she is ready to take on the challenge.

The Challenger Series, a global series of events, serves as a gateway to the Championship Tour of Surfing, the pinnacle of professional surfing.

This is where the best of the best compete, and Louise is approaching the cusp of joining their ranks.

Before she jets off to the USA, there is still the Ballito Pro presented by O’Neill starting later this month and several other events in which she will compete to gain more valuable experience for her big moment on the Challenger Series.

Her family is very supportive of her surfing career and her achievements.

Her brother Luc was also a member of the South African team in El Salvador, while her younger sister Leah is top of the rankings in the divisions that she competes in.

At 15 years of age, the world of professional surfing is beckoning Louise, and the Scottburgh local is ready for it.
