Exceptional golfing for Eagles

The next game will be on July 2.

Scottburgh Golf Club was the venue for this month’s Village Eagles golf game.

After the exceptional weather the day before and a very cold start in the morning, the players got underway.

The course was in good condition; well done to the team. The day’s lost ball count was low at 46 for 56 players; Vanessa Bailey took the prize for the closest estimate.

Best Man Sarel Swart.

Best Lady was Tracy Philips-Bryant on 42 individual points, and Sarel Swart took the men’s prize on 44 points.

The winners on the day were Mervyn Perry, Hans Brunings, Sarel Swart and Fred van Prooijen on an alliance score of 91 points. The longest day and collecting the Stones Trophy was Ian Lovett, Brian Navias, Tony Butler and John Calitz on 74 points.

The longest day: Tony Butler, John Calitz, Ian Lovett and Brian Navias.

The results were calculated by Stan Sim and Alistair Eyres. Eddie Mathews presented the results, and this went without a hitch. On the fines side, Derek Hodge was the master, and this was once again well-supported.

The next game will be held at Selbourne on July 2 – see you all there.
