Warriors’ seconds on winning run

The firsts are struggling but the seconds seem to have found their groove.

The South Coast Warriors still haven’t found top gear and stuttered to another loss last Saturday, this time against the visiting Kokstad team in a match played at Douglas Mitchell Sports Ground.

The firsts lost 16-3, with just a lone penalty, to show for their efforts.

It hasn’t helped that 11 or so players from last year are not available, having either retired, moved away or injured.

Allen Haai goes airborne for the Warriors second team.

It goes like that. The good news is that there is some exciting talent in the pipeline, and Warriors should be a force to be reckoned with again before too long.

In other good news, the seconds continued their expectation-exceeding season with another win, accumulating 33 points to Kokstad’s 22.

The minis enjoyed another exciting day of rugby, with the U7s, U9s and U11s all in action.

Registration for Colts rugby (U12 to U18) took place last Friday, and by all accounts, there was quite a response.

Not all could be there in person, with a number registering online, but it looks like they could be in for a bumper season, in terms of player turnout, anyway.

South Coast Warriors second team have been on a winning run of late.
