Monthly medal contested in heat and humidity

P&G Construction is the sponsor for this Saturday's betterball Stableford.

Scottburgh Golf Club welcomed a few members from up the road – Umkomaas – last Wednesday for the individual Stableford – they’re always welcome.

Christo Steynvaart played his best round ever and came in with 42 points. Visitor Alan ‘Snorky’ Eriksen thought he’d bagged it with 41, but settled for second place with Mike Eley third with 37.

No 2 clubs or hidden holes finder, but Dave Meredith found the weight of the Stone.
Thanks to KWV, it was monthly medal time, last Saturday with the temperature closing in on at 34 °C.

There was a few pull-outs, mainly due to the extreme heat and humidity, but nevertheless a decent field.
In the A division, Barry Kisten had the best gross with 80 and Nivash Mahabeer took the nett with 77.

It was a hotly contested B division with John Mills taking the gross with 82 and Tony Moore the nett with 72.
Willy Creaney scored 33 points in the C division to finish one ahead of second placed Manny Meyer.

Nearest the pins going to Org Viviers – 10th and the 17th to Laighn Moolman.

The Alliance sponsored by Nivash and TM Moodley was taken by John Mills, Barry Kisten and Nivash Mahabeer with Spoekie helping here and there for 86 points, all contributing their bottles of bubbly to the Sardine Run wheelbarrow.

With a nett 68, John Mills was declared medallist for February.

Flyer’s footnote: If you stop for lunch at halfway you’ll hear ‘shank’ and ‘choke’ but they’re not on the menu.
