Bob Hall strolls to victory

Saturday is the P&G Construction betterball.

With the current heatwave in full swing, it’s imperative that we all drink plenty of liquids and be generous with the sunblock. We don’t want any burnouts or other nasties happening to anyone.

The Individual Stableford was played in such conditions last Wednesday, but it didn’t phase Bob Hall who strolled around the course amassing 40 points without breaking a sweat.

Steve Abramson was four points further back on 36 for second place. Bob and John Mills picked up the 2 club money and our soon to be ex-manager Deane Jooste picked up the Stone. Rumour has it that Deane intends to ‘kidnap’ our Stone so he can build on it at his new position at Legends Golf Estate.

The Umthunzi Hotel sponsored day took place last Saturday, with the usual good field for this popular game. Christo Steynvaart will be spending a couple of nights there for his win on 38 points. Wayne Simpson who has been there before will spend a night for his second placed 36 points.

Morne van Eck outdid a gaggle of golfers to take third place with 33 points. Nearest the pins went to Paul Hoines 5th, Doc Mahabeer 10th and Laighn Moolman 17th who also rolled in the only 2 club. Darryl Govender found the hidden holes and Geoff Thommasen was reunited with the Stone.

The Hundred Club is open and you can renew your favourite numbers, either in the office or with Bob at prizegiving.

It’s an individual game today (Wednesday) and the P&G Construction betterball is this Saturday (10th).

Flyer’s footnote: If you’re the only one who improves his lie, it’s cheating. If we all improve our lie, it’s a perfectly reasonable adjustment of obviously unfair playing conditions.
