Selborne golfers double up on league titles

The players know how to lift their games when it matters.

Selborne Park successfully defended their SKZN Handicap Golf League title for the year, wrapping things up with an easy win over a Margate, 9-3, in the final fixture for the season.
This was held at Port Shepstone CC in rainy weather, after having been postponed and moved due to rain earlier in the year.

In the other two games, Southbroom B beat Umdoni A 6,5-5,5 and hosts Port Shepstone beat Umdoni B by the same margin.
This means that Adrian van Rensburg’s charges have won the title two years in a row, and with it the R5000 prize which goes to the club.
Runners-up were Southbroom A, followed by Port Shepstone in third and then Southbroom B in fourth.

Fifth spot went to Umdoni A, followed by Umdoni B leaving Margate to collect the wooden spoon.
Final SKZN log: Selborne Park 10 (46); Southbroom A 9 (42,5); Port Shepstone 8 (45); Southbroom B 8 (36,5); Umdoni A 3 (35,5); Umdoni B 2 (24); Margate 2 (22,5).
League convener Gary Leader praised Selborne on their achievement.
