Mike and Roly in the prizes…again

Saturday is the Annual Turkey Trot.

It’s becoming a habit for Mike Eley and Roly Tickle to come all the way from Umdoni just to pick up the Wednesday betterball prizes. They did it again last week with their 43 points, Mike shooting a 65 nett which should adjust his handicap.

Steve Abramson and Butch Bailey managed to get within a point on 43 for second place. Anton Visage showed Johnny Bezuidenhout to the Stone’s table to see if he could guess the weight of it, Anton becoming the guardian of the Stone just lately.

Paul and Gina Tedder better known as P&G Construction were last Saturday’s betterball sponsors. Regular visitor Les Huddle is back in town for the holidays and Liaghn Moolman took first place with 42 on a count out. Unlucky to be counted out were John Mills and Vince Govender with Bob Hall and TM Moodley third on 41, also on a count out.

Les hadn’t finished as he took nearest the pin on the 2nd with Jason Gilliver on the 5th, Geoff Thommasen 10th and Barry Kisten 17th. Not content, Les and Jason both rolled in their nearest the pin efforts to split the 2 club pool. Bob Hall was then surprised to find he was the only one to find the hidden holes. Org Viviers is getting used to picking up the Stone and this week it was once again with Johnny Bezuidenhout.

We’re expecting a lot more visitors for the festive season so it’s advisable to get your name down early for the upcoming games. Saturday (16th) is the annual Turkey Trot put together by Graham Brown, Tony Power and friends, and don’t forget our Friday 5 pin.

Flyer’s footnote: Some players get so nervous playing for a side bet the greens don’t need fertilising for a year.
