Retro vibes for summer surf festival

Don't miss the Tweni 2s Summer Festival on December 9.

This December’s Tweni 2s Summer Festival will be all about surfing, music and reliving the ’70s and ’80s.
Head on down to The Spot Backpackers on Saturday, December 9 to catch all the vibes.

Remember, the theme is ‘Rolling Retro’ so bust out the mullet, slap on some bellbottoms, day-glo ’80s, grooving ’70s – whatever your flavour – as the event pays tribute to past retro styles.
Prizes for best dressed with an all-day food and cash bar.

Prizes for best all-round surfer after two rounds of competition, best wave and hottest retro junior.
Surfing winners will be decided by vote from the crowd and competitors on the beach.

All proceeds from the event will go towards Tweni Tidy Towns, Ugu Surfriders and Sports Kidz.
For more information, tickets, or if you are keen to surf, contact Peter Horlock on 083 2850739.

Programme for the day:
07:00 to 09:00: Free surf clinic for groms and gromettes, surf conditions pending, with beach soccer as the back-up plan.
09:00 to 13:00: The inaugural Retro 5000 begins with a lineup of 16 local surfers, all riding classic surfboards pre-dating the 1990s.
14:00 to late: Live music with Tyran Roy, The Rock Lobsters, Chewing The Hornet, Peter B and Ian Stewart and an electro programme till even later.
