Seven Stars Football Club was crowned the official champion of the Gamalakhe Local Football Association’s league for the 2022/2023 season.
Chairman of the league, Tino Sibukwana said it was a very tight competition and all the teams worked very hard for it to be success.
Sibukwana said the last league games were played at the Bhambayi Sports Field recently.
Sunshine won 3-0 against Strivers, while Gamalakhe Campus beat Mthini FC 3-0. Warriors were dominant in their match against Tin Town FC 4-1.
Seven Stars proved they were the champions as they beat Scefesimnandi with a whopping score of 10-2.
“Well done to all the players and coaches for finishing off this season with a bang. The top six teams are Tin Town FC (6th) Western Gunners (5th), Sunshine FC (4th), Gamalakhe Campus (3rd) Mighty Warriors (2nd) and Seven Stars (1st)” said Sibukwana.
He said Seven Stars will receive a R8000 cash prize and the other teams will also get their share.
