Sole to defend Open title at Margate

The course yielded a lot of two-clubs this week.

Margate Country Club is all set to host the Southern KZN Open this Sunday, November 19.
The course is in excellent condition, judging by comments from the recent Ladies’ Interclub, so the men should be in for an enjoyable day.

Defending champion is Gavin Sole (Southbroom).

The business day alliance last week was won on 96 points by Johann Erasmus, Poen Olivier, Mike Jones and Adriaan Lemmer.

In second place on 89 points were Rob Weyer, Graeme Massam, Rina Rito and Colin Penny.
Two-clubs: Bob Weanie (2nd), Frik van Zyl (2nd), Rob Weyer (4th), Graeme Massam (11th), Chris Nel (11th), Kevin Oxenham (2nd).

Nearest the pin: Rob Weyer (4th) and Graeme Massam (11th).

Saturday’s meat competition was won on 44 points by Hans Beilhartz and Rolf Spielmann, two ahead of Peter McCarthy and Arthur Ehlert.

Two-clubs: Craig Rademan (11th) and Elvis Khawula (8th).
Nearest the pin: Collin Penny (2nd) and Elvis Khawula (16th).

In the ladies’ section, the Sandy’s Surprise competition was won by Agnes Spielmann and Hannetjie Pretorius on 52 points.
Next were Wondra Bothma and Lizzie Meyer on 50 points.
Nearest the pin: Sandi Johnston (16th) and Anika Mulder (8th).

The Wobblers competition last Wednesday was won by Eddie Gomersall, Keith Pearson and Dave Boyd on 84 points.
Runners-up were Rolf Spielmann, Dave Hepworth and André Henn on 81 points.

The Arthur Tomlinson Floater, on 70 points, went to Bob Weanie, Hans Dallinger and Hans Beilhartz.
