Striders’ Peter claims victory at Toti marathon

The brave men and women from Uvongo led by their running captain Lynn van der Merwe stole the show, not just by participating but by winning several prizes.

Not only did members of the South Coast Striders Athletics Club manage to stage one of the toughest marathons in the province recently, but they also proved that they could run it too. The club recently sent a contingent of 30 runners to participate in the Goss and Balfe Sapphire Coast Marathon hosted by Amanzimtoti Athletics Club.

Mkhondie MK Mufamadi of South Coast Striders said: “The race was on a tough route compared to the South Coast Marathon hosted recently by Striders, with a climbing elevation of about 560m.”
