San Lameer gives R85 000 to charity

For San Lameer Estate and the Country Club, it’s always a pleasure to host golf days.

But what’s even more satisfying is being able to use funds raised on certain golf days to give back to the community.

That was the case recently, where managing director Pine Pienaar and country club general manager Pierre van Vuuren welcomed leaders and/or representatives from specific organisations to a handover at the country club.

The money was raised from the auction for charity at San Lameer CC’s recent 4×4 Men’s Challenge tournament, which attracted golfers from around the country.

From this event, R85 000 was donated to six organisations, namely South Coast Hospice (R20 000), Cansa Durban (R20 000), the Pro Deo Care Group (R20 000), Margate Round Table (R10 000), the Siyakwazi Team (R10 000) and SPCA (R5 000).

“We are delighted to be able to hand over cheques to aid the wonderful people running these organisations in carrying out the caring and uplifting work they do, in difficult circumstances, relying on public support in a time when the economy is under strain,” said Pine.
