Underberg trail was a hit

The Scottburgh Athletic Club thoroughly enjoyed this event.

A number of Scottburgh Athletics Club runners were recently part of the Glencairn Trail Run which was described as an amazing experience on the trails in Underberg.

There were three options for the weekend, a Ram and a Lamb Run as well as for the first time a 45km mountain run for the experienced trail runner. Runners came together from around the country to enjoy this well organised trail run with breath-taking scenic routes.

The Lamb Run comprised a 8km and 10km over two days while the Ram offered 19km and 17km.
Both these options took the runners through forests, water crossings as well as a floating bridge. All the trails were marked incredibly well ensuring all runners stayed on the correct routes. Each year there is a theme, this year was Springboks – in line with the current Rugby World Cup.

The accommodation for the 750 runners was mainly in tents with mattresses provided with options of a few luxury rooms.
