Man United-Liverpool derby day looms

Dress code for the day is a Manchester United or Liverpool shirt.

The annual Manchester United-Liverpool Football Club supporters’ golf day is set to take place at Port Shepstone Country Club this Sunday.

This year it will be played in memory of club stalwart Pete Stoppel, who was an ardent Liverpool fan.
Liverpool won it last year, but have never been able to defend the title since this competition started in 2008.
Overall, Manchester United have won it nines times, Liverpool three times. There has been one tie and two years it was not played due to Covid.

Dress code for the day is a Manchester United or Liverpool shirt. Supporters of other teams are welcome to choose a side. Shotgun start at 09:00.

* In regular club news, the Wednesday competition was won by Gavin van Wyk on +7. Paul Bunge was second on +1, counting out Colin Nel.
The Halfway Ford business day last Friday was won on 88 points by Tony Tarr, Morris Moodley, Rob Calder and Tinus Pretorius.
Runners-up on 85 points were Terry Kotze, Theo van Rooyen, Paul Bunge and Sidney Shingange.
Three behind them were Bevis Fairbrother, Gary Vogt, Lionel Peters and Piet Snyman on 82 points.
The betterball last Saturday was won on 42 points by Yzelle Greyling and Colleen Anderson.
There was a tie for second place on 41 points, with Debi Stewart and Cecelia Verster counting out Jenny Hulley and Ilse Steyn.
