It’s all business at Margate CC

There were quite a few competitions at the club recently.

The business day challenge at Margate Country Club last Friday, was won by Renet van Biljon, Barend Joubert, Rina Rito and Arthur Ehlert on 101 points.

Runners-up were Poen Olivier, Suzette Olivier, Johann Erasmus and Mike Jones on 95 points.
Nearest the pin – Poen Olivier (4th), Daniel Muller (11th). Two-clubs – Barend Joubert (2nd), Dawn Howden (2nd and 8th), Poen Olivier (4th and 8th).

The Club Meat competition last Saturday was won on 43 points by Arthur Ehlert and Allan Halvorsen.
One point behind them were Des Potts and Harold Olkers.
Nearest the pin – Wayne Minnaar (16th). Two-clubs – Martin Pietersen (4th), Collin Penny (11th).

The 100 Club last Tuesday was won on 40 points by Johann Erasmus, with Schalk Oosthuizen next on 36 points. Two-club – Frik van Zyl.

The Wobblers’ game last Wednesday was won by Winners were Frank Merrill, Hans Beilhartz and Keith Pearson on 92 points.

Runners-up were Johan Human, Freddie Boshoff and Nico van Vuuren on 89 points, counting out Eddie Gomersall’s group.

The Arthur Tomlinson Floater went to Dave Boyd, André Henn and Dave Morrison on 81 points.

The ladies’ competition last Tuesday saw Hannetjie Pretorius win on 36 points, one ahead of Wondra Bothma on 35 points, with Dawn Howden in third place on 34 points. Two-club – Anika Mulder.

Their Saturday competition saw Wilna Olkers win the silver division on 87 gross (nett 72). Bronze division honours went to Renet van Biljon on 101 gross/nett 75. Putts – Wilna Olkers – 27 putts.
