Help para-surfer get to world champs

Natashia Angolique Siebert had her life irreparably disrupted by an accident that left her as a T4 paraplegic.

Natashia Angolique Siebert is a 36-year-old adaptive para-surfer from Amanzimtoti who has been selected to represent South Africa at the ISA World Parasurfing Championship in Huntington Beach, California.

Margate’s Anguna Holiday Flats is hoping to help Natashia reach this seemingly impossible dream through a lucky draw fundraiser.

Every R50 donated to Natashia’s fundraising effort, through this competition, increases your chances of winning a four-night stay at Anguna Holiday Flats. The competition closes on Friday, October 20. Visit www.anguna.co.za for the full terms and conditions.

Natashia, the mother of three teenage girls had her life irreparably disrupted by an accident that left her as a T4 paraplegic – paralyzed from the chest down.

After the accident, Natashia had to cope with surgery, rehab, physiotherapy and find the courage to tackle life from a wheelchair. At times, the only motivation to keep her going were her daughters, but life took on a new meaning when she discovered the Made for More organisation which aims to include, empower and equip people with disabilities through sport.

Natashia remained positive and adapted and since her very first surf lesson in 2019 she was hooked.

“I can’t explain the feeling – the rush, the peace and quietness all at once. You forget that you are paralyzed,” she said.

The competition starts on November 5, and athletes are under pressure to pay up or withdraw. Many organisations that were able to provide support in the past are no longer able to do so, so Natashia needs all the help she can get.
