Runners brave wet weather at South Coast Marathon

Rain could not stop South Coast Marathon runners.

Despite the wet and windy weather a week ago, runners came in numbers to support the annual South Coast Marathon, organised by South Coast Striders.

Various running clubs were represented in the 42km, 25km, 10km and 5km distances which all started and finished off at the Ugu Sports and Leisure Centre.

Ray Nkonyeni Municipality employee and Ugu Athletics Club member, Mlungisi Mkhwanazi.

Mkhondi Mufamadi of South Coast Striders said the marathon was a success and, as Striders, they would like to thank Deborah Berridge the race director, Lynn van der Merwe, Bongani Mbhele, David Anderson-Young, Matthew Dickens, Joe Naidu and Adeline Jacobs.

“We thank the main sponsor Ray Nkonyeni Municipality for the undivided support they have given to the community to promote a social and healthy lifestyle over the years. Overall the runners were the winners,” he concluded.
