Rising tennis stars emerge

Senior players have been encouraged to see the enthusiasm shown.

There have been some exciting times for some of the Ugu District’s emerging tennis stars.
Ugu Tennis Association recently sent two teams to the Rising Stars tournament held at Westridge Tennis Complex in Durban.

The girls’ team, consisting of Andrea Browne, Giorgie Murray, Summer Dyer and Olivia Browne, reached the finals where they won silver medals after going down to St Mary’s DSG.

“It’s aimed specifically at developing the youth in the sport at school level and plays an important part in the development of the sport,” said UTA president Sharon van der Schyff.
