The AMBC nominated mixed pairs final was played in cold, overcast conditions last Friday.
The few spectators that braved the conditions enjoyed some high class bowls. The convincing winners were Liesje de Rosner and Barrie Ainslie over runners-up Tony Hoggins and Shirley Tucker.
The last club championship of the bowls year is the men’s and women’s drawn pairs which will commence on Wednesday, September 13.
The spring tournament sponsored by Harcourt Martens & Associates will be played on Saturday, September 16.
Twenty four mixed fours teams from several clubs including one from the sponsor will play 3 games of 15 ends, with total prize money of just under R5 000 to be shared among the top three teams.
