Big win for Aarvan Mahabeer

Scottburgh Golf Club news and results.

It was a return to form on a windswept afternoon last Wednesday for John Mills whose 36 was good enough for a count out win over visitor Jerry Boyd.

Jerry was one of a crowd of visitors from nearby Umkomaas for the day.
The visitors also showed the locals how to make 2 clubs as Mike Flack and Rob Symonds shared the 2 club pool between them. MC for the day, Mikheil called up captain Bob Hall, not to make a speech but to feel the weight of Stone Last to much acclaim from the barflies.

Umthunzi Hotel was last Saturday’s sponsor with more visitors in attendance for the individual Stableford. A cloudy miserable day to start off, but the sun eventually broke through to cap a day to remember.

Little Aarvan Mahabeer (9) came in with 45 massive points to win mom and dad a two-night stay at the hotel. Steven Myburgh, after a good showing in last week’s medal thought he’d wrapped it up with his 39 but had to settle for second and an overnight stay.

Completing the podium was Barry Kisten after a blistering second nine holes finishing on 38. Nearest the pins went to Graham Brown and Ian Walker with Aarvan running in two 2 clubs, with Ian Walker and Johan Nelson also recording one each. Aarvan certainly had room to crow as grandad Heera came to the desk to raise the Stone, one up for the youngster.

P&G Construction is sponsoring this Saturday’s (9th) betterball.
