Chips and chirps at Suidie’s golf day

There were lucky draws and a slew of raffles afterwards, all contributing to the fundraising initiative of the day.

Suid-Natal Primary held a very successful golf day at San Lameer Country Club last Saturday.
There was wonderful camaraderie, with much festive fun and the usual banter taking place.
The format was betterball Stableford, with both scores to count on the par threes, so scores were higher than usual.

Winners were Nico du Plooy and Joe Visagie on 59 points.
Runners-up were Ettiene Kruger and Stephen Jones on 54 points, with Gary Smith and Glenn Kyle next on 53 points.

Niel Retief and Jarrod van Wyk were fourth on 51 points.
Nearest the pins went to Chris Nel (4th), Ash Ranod (9th), RH Rilall (14th) and Jack Lamp (16th).
Longest drive on 3rd was struck by Jarrod van Wyk.

Runners-up Ettiene Kruger (left) and Stephen Jones are congratulated by principal Callie Krog and organiser Vashti du Plooy.

Many thanks to all the sponsors and players who made the day such a wonderful success.
Among the main sponsors were BP Ramsgate, Kingdom Crete, Wealth Financial Services and Vodacom Shelly Beach.

The pitching contest from in front of the clubhouse to the 9th green proved popular, with a wide variety of shots on display.
Philip Boardman from Ladysmith aced it, much to his shock, delight and then jubilation.
There were lucky draws and a slew of raffles afterwards, all contributing to the fundraising initiative of the day.

Nico du Plooy celebrates winning the Suidie’s golf day (with partner Joe Visagie) with principal Callie Krog, friend Pieter Kruger, wife and organiser Vashti du Plooy and Gerhardus Oosthuizen (chairman of the school governing body).
