Runners bank on good times in Durban

The day was a success and enjoyed by all.

Scottburgh Athletics Club had 21 members brave the cold last Sunday to take part in this year’s Absa Run Your City Durban 10km race.
The race was well supported, with more than 8000 entries, and finished at Sun Coast Casino.
Fortunately, the rain held up and entrants all had a dry run, with fantastic support along the road, including a Scottish band.

Ready to run are (from left) Dhiresh Vallabh, Janeen Botha, Megan Muller, Jenny Parsons, Heather Stanton, Dana Daniels, Hughlene Kleingeld, Tammy Quarsingh, Carol Wrobel, Ursula Van Vuuren, Ian Maling and Lishen Singh.

Razia Essop had a fantastic run, coming in at 1:02 for the 10km in her 70 age category.
Prosper Cele had an excellent run in a time of 49:47, while Dana Daniels was the club’s first woman home in a time of 56:43.

With their medals are Lishen Singh (left) and Ian Maling.

Riyaaz Khan and his wife Ayesha joined in, with Ayesha completing her first 10km race.
