Southbroom Golf Club got off to a superb start in the opening round of the Southern KwaZulu-Natal handicap league recently.
The opening round was played at Southbroom, with each club getting a chance to host during the season.
The A team beat Margate CC 9,5-2,5. This is the team led by Gavin Sole and Gary Purtell and comprises Cyprian Xolo, Nic Crossman, Brian Jolliffe, Nicky Smith, Werner Duggan and Simon Shusha.
Southbroom B beat defending champions Selborne Park 7-5.
The B team comprised Jean-Marc Bouic, Graham Sole, Grant Richards, Cameron Olivant, Sbu Ntozakhe, Kevin Feinberg, Neil Crossey and Christer Solgevik.
Teams have been divided as equally as possible, handicap wise, so it’s not a straight list of lowest to highest handicaps.
Port Shepstone CC beat Umdoni Park A 7.5-4.5. Umdoni Park B had a bye.
The second round is again at Southbroom, on Sunday, May 14.
Southbroom A play Umdoni B, Umdoni A play Selborne and Port Shepstone play Margate.
