Sensational season for San Lameer CC

Various competitions were held over the holidays.

San Lameer Country Club has had one of its best seasons in some time, despite all the challenges the country is facing at these times.
Various competitions were held over the holidays.

The Summer Classic on December 19 was played as a Mystery Alliance.
It was won on 106 points by R Jansen, B Kroon, S Scrooby and G Strydom.

The next day it was the President’s Cup that was contested.
The format was Individual Stableford and it was won by Hennie Dirker on 38 points.

The Wednesday competition, on December 21, was a traditional Betterball Stableford.
This was won by Craig and Monique Wilson on 50 points.

Then it was time for the big one, Club Champs.
This was played over 36 holes and the champion for the year was Johan de Beer (handicap +2) on scores of 80 and then a vastly improved and more characteristic 70.

B division winner, over 18 holes Individual Stableford, was Rob Morrison, with 32 points off his 12 handicap.

In the C division, the winner was Akesh Hiralal on 39 points off a 26 handicap.

The ladies’ division was won by Maritha de Beer on 34 points off an 11 handicap.

Junior division saw Jacques Groenewald score 29 points to win, off his 17 handicap.
