Trophy time for Southbroom golfers

There was an extra edge to competitions that week, with trophies up for grabs.

Southbroom golfers had the opportunity to play for three different ‘name’ trophies last week.
Jo Ledden won the Cora Hicks trophy on nett 71 last Wednesday. She was three ahead of Annie Bruwer on nett 74, with Anne Baldrey in third on nett 77.

The men’s individual Stableford was won on 39 points by Jack Moulder. Colin McKay was second on 35 points, with Malcolm Moorley, Martin Hutton and Geoff Skelton all carding 33 points.
The ladies then played for the Adamson trophy last Saturday, won by Lee Mutch on 41 points. Michelle van der Hoek was second on 37 points, followed by Jeanne Powell on 35 points, Solange Fox on 32 points and Heleen Hissey on 31 points.

On the same day, the men played for the Frank Eyles trophy, won by Malcolm Moorley on 42 points. Way behind in second place was Nicky Smith on 36 points, followed by Andy Bossard, Geoff Skelton, Peter Kupisiewicz and Bruce Begley, all on 33 points.

Friday Chicken Run: Guy Spittal 18 points, Bob Carmichael 18 points, Vic Pretorius 16 points.
