Hampers for caddies as San Lameer says ‘thank you’

The caddies appreciated the gesture and donation.

San Lameer Country Club may have a reputation as being a course where you should take a cart, but it also a wonderful team of skilled caddies.

Some of them are very good golfers in their own right,. They have helped numerous players, in both social and tournament golf, with the right club selection over a treacherous water hole, or reading the line on a tricky putt. And then there’s their ability to read the wind, of course.

They are also there to meet and greet, to carry your clubs from your car to a cart if necessary – and always with a friendly smile.

San Lameer decided this winter to acknowledge the caddy team for the wonderful manner in which they treat local and visiting golfers – with professionalism and cheerful kindness.

The caddies gathered in the clubhouse recently where they were presented with large hampers containing food and other goodies, to help them and their families get through what has been a somewhat chilly winter.

“It’s always such an honour for us to bless our staff, and this time around we got to bless our caddy team. At San Lameer we value the importance of our staff wellness by taking care of them like they take care of our guests. We pride ourselves of the fact that our team is equipped to offer only their best throughout the year no matter the season,” said Pine Pienaar, Managing Director San Lameer Master Homeowners’ Association.

In other news, San Lameer is looking forward to hosting the prestigious three-day 4×4 Men’s Team Challenge, from August 9 to 12.
Then the hugely popular SA Kids Junior Africa Challenge is just around the corner, set to take place from August 21 to 26.
