Allerton side ‘play out shoes’ in second match of 2022 league

The Allerton side played out their shoes in the second match of the 2022 league.

The first instalment of the 2022 Betterball league at Umkomaas Golf Club was played in hot and desperately humid conditions, and with majority of the field posting 38 points, it seems the energy sapping conditions played a role.

Kuben Naidoo and Dean Naicker posted an excellent 43 points to take top spot on the day and on the log table. They were awarded coffee machines, prizes sponsored by Barrie Taylor.

Teeing off early seems to have been a good idea as Tallies Taljaard and Lucas De Bruyn came in second on 40 points, and Mickey Eriksen and Blaise Towell in third, one point behind. Russell Cumming and Brian Kassel counted out seven others on 38 points to take fourth place.

Christo van den Heever scooped the jackpot pool, securing 10 points on the four holes. Two clubs were won by Dean Naicker, Blaise Towell, and Mark Bezencon.
