STOKED: Stuart Gregory completes Dakar 2022 in style

Stuart's regular updates on his WhatsApp group kept friends informed and entertained.

Stuart Gregory has completed his second Dakar in strength, rounding out the final stage in Jeddah earlier today.

Friends have followed his progress – the ups and downs, trials and trauma – on his Dakar 2022 WhatsApp group, where he has provided entertaining and informative updates.

“Stoked, done it, Dakar 22, it’s over,” he said on a voice note to the group.

“Thanks for the support everyone, it’s been awesome. Everyone here is stoked, pumped.”

He admitted it was tough, like every year, but that’s why these guys do what they do – for the challenge, facing the dangers and enjoying the thrills.

The macadamia nut farmer from Port Edward has now properly settled his score with Dakar, if you want to call it that, after such heartbreak the first time around.

He made it to the penultimate stage back then and had to stop. At the time, a tired, frustrated and disappointed Stuart vowed that he ‘was done’ with Dakar.

But obviously the bug had bitten and he has now charged through two since, much to the delight of his family, friends and various sponsors.
