Half marathon and 10k race this Sunday

The club is honoured that Steve Mkasi, the President of KwaZulu-Natal Athletics contacted them in support of the event and confirmed his attendance on the day.

Scottburgh Athletic Club is excited to announce that it will be hosting the iconic Scottburgh half marathon and 10k race this Sunday (16th).

This will be the first time that the event will take place in 10 years. It was previously always well-known as the first race of the year, and they have managed to book one of the first dates again.

The club is honoured that Steve Mkasi, the President of KwaZulu-Natal Athletics contacted them in support of the event and confirmed his attendance on the day.

Behind the scenes the committee has been hard at work ensuring a successful and memorable event, which they intend to continue to host annually again.

The Scottburgh Golf Club will be the venue for the start and finish of the race, and they offer great breakfasts and awesome views.

The start of the race will be at 05:30 and the course goes into Williamson Road, right into Cordiner Road, into Scott Street, past the Blue Marlin Hotel and then onto the R102.

The 10k walkers/runners turn before Crocworld and the half marathon goes onto Halfway Toyota, up to the viewpoint and then the same route back.

The event has a limit of 500 runners/walkers and entries are being snapped up.

All entrants will receive a goodie bag and cap and all finishers receive a medal.
