League honours for AMBC bowlers

In the ladies section, Viv Hollander was up against Liesje de Rosner and in the men’s section John Chamier faced Billy Smith.

Monthly bowls competitions are set to resume at AMBC from May.

The club championship handicap singles finals were played yesterday, see next week’s paper for results.

In the ladies section, Viv Hollander was up against Liesje de Rosner and in the men’s section John Chamier faced Billy Smith.

In Saturday League action, the ladies first and second league teams completed their league games for 2021 with home games last week Saturday (17th).

How lovely was it to see the greens full of visitors.

Congratulations to the first league team for winning the 2021 league.

The team comprised Rae Stewart, Hilary Holmes, Nelia van Vuuren, Liesje de Rosner, Helen Turk, Viv Hollander, Gail van Niekkelen-Kuyper, Annatjie Kidd and Barbara Henderson.

The second league ladies will stay in the second division for 2022.

Thanks to Glynnis Corbett, Rose Daniel and Barbara Henderson for the lovely sandwiches that they prepared.

The club cannot function without the help of the members.

In the men’s league, the first team had a tough day at the office, without scoring a point against the strong team from Riverside.

The second league team managed to win their game and are top of their section after the fifth round.

The men’s league will have home games on May 1, 15 and 29.
