Team Umkomaas wins league season opener

The team comprised Lesa Vergottini, Lesley Fraser, Evija McKelvey, Catherine Schmidt, Sabiha Hulley and Natalie Singer.

Umkomaas played host to the first South Coast Region (SCR) ladies league game since 2019.

It was wonderful to see all the ladies and great to hear the many compliments about the course.

The ladies took the opportunity to experience the course in preparation for the SCR Champs and KZN Ladies Interclub which will both be played at Umkomaas later this year.

The April monthly mug at Umkomaas GC, sponsored by Halfway Toyota Malanda, was won by Nigel Henson.

Umkomaas played Southbroom in the first fixture and put their home advantage to good use, winning two of their three matches.

The team comprised Lesa Vergottini, Lesley Fraser, Evija McKelvey, Catherine Schmidt, Sabiha Hulley and Natalie Singer.

Congratulations must also go to Natalie (captain) and Sabiha who have once again been selected to represent the South Coast Region in this year’s Inter-Region tournament scheduled to kick-off in June.

The April monthly mug, sponsored by Halfway Toyota Malanda, was won by Nigel Henson who finished his round three shots better than handicap. Nigel’s 39 points also secured him victory in the D Division competition.
