The Durbanite returned to the coast for the Tweni 2s competition, where he won the U18 boys section.

There’s talk he could become the next Jordy Smith of South African surfing.

There was some spectacular weather and even better surfing for this annual surfing contest last weekend.

A total of 38 juniors surfed on the Friday, followed by the main event the next day.

Wave of the day went to Tide-Lee Ireland and Gabriella Herbst in the boys and girls divisions respectively.

They both walked away with a Casio Gshock watch and R500.
