THE women’s competition at Margate Country Club recently was a greensomes Stableford and was won by Anita Scheepers and Jean Page on 27 points.
One behind were Beryl Williamson and Margaret Taylor on 26 points, with Agnes Spielman and Lizzie Meyer next on 25 points.

The Wednesday Wobblers three-ball alliance saw Derek Egerton, Louie Gouws and Otto Mutschler take first place on 81 points, on a countout from Bob Weanie, Nico van Vuuren and Peter Hunter.
In third place were Hans Dallinger, Ernie Janse and Brian Pitcher on 79 points.
The Arthur Tomlinson Floater went to Konnie Konrad, Jurgan Sisselburg and Rolf Spielman on 62 points.
Last Thursday’s competition, sponsored by Margate Pro Shop, was won by Graeme Massam on 40 points.
Runner-up was Alan Davies on 34 points.
Nearest the pins, sponsored by Halfway Toyota Shelly Beach, were Graeme Massam (2nd) and Gary Smith (11th).
Mike Lee and Graeme Massam won last Saturday’s competition on 43 points, by one from Angus McLachlan and Robin Shuttleworth, who counted out Keith Duncalf and John Ford.
Nearest the pins were Elizabeth Hormey (2nd) and Ernie Janse (11th).
The women’s three-ball alliance was won on 60 points by Margaret Taylor, Lizzie Meyer and Maureen Pitcher, by one from Una McLachlan, Beryl Williamson and Rene Paton.
